Success at the DMS Awards 2016

22nd November 2016

THE achievements of thirty six Human Resource (HR) and Learning & Development (L&D) professionals were recognised at a recent awards evening.

The DMS Awards 2016 celebrated the hard work of those candidates who have completed their Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) Professional Qualifications with local centre, DMS Ireland in the past year.

In addition to industry peers from across Northern Ireland the event, held in the Stormont Hotel, Belfast, was also attended by Sue Upton, Membership and Markets Director from CIPD, London.

Addressing the audience Sue said: “CIPD qualifications and membership are internationally respected as representing the benchmark in professionalism in HR and L&D. We are very fortunate to have a great network of centres such as DMS who educate and train people like you – the HR Professionals of the future.”

Certificates were presented for three levels of qualifications in Human Resources / Learning & Development: Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced.

Managing Director of DMS Lynn Carson told the audience: “It has been a pleasure to work with our candidates in the last 17 years and the success of the 115 individuals who have completed their CIPD qualifications/awards with DMS in the past year shows that we continue to add value to the HR&D Profession throughout industry in Northern Ireland.”

DMS was delighted to be supported by members of the local CIPD Northern Ireland branch as well as Mary Connaughton, Head of CIPD Ireland and Alison Hodgson, Chair of CIPD Ireland Branch.

The awards also gave DMS the opportunity to support Young Enterprise Northern Ireland (YENI) and the event was attended by ambassador and 2011 finalist in the Apprentice, Jim Eastwood.

Speaking to the audience Jim said: “Young Enterprise Northern Ireland works with thousands of young people across the province every year to develop their entrepreneurial skills and aspirations, ensuring that they leave education prepared for life or work. Each of tonight’s inspirational winners serve as an excellent example to these young people of how a strong commitment to the learning and development of individuals and teams within an organisation plays a significant role in securing business growth and success.

“On behalf of Young Enterprise Northern Ireland, I would like to congratulate each of tonight’s very worthy winners, and to convey my thanks to DMS Ireland for their generous support of the charity.”
