UU gets new way to navigate route to top

7th November 2016

LOCAL communications agency Navigator Blue has teamed up with Ulster University Business School to provide a practical Digital Skills Clinic for final year marketing students.

The two-week clinic will seek to train digital marketing students on the practical skills required to make it in a busy digital marketing agency.

Professor Mark Durkin, who developed and delivers the module, is working with the agency in order to give students a real insight into the hands-on skills deployed every day in a leading digital communications agency.

Mark said: “Many organisations, large and small, are trying to come to terms with the fact that they must transform from being a business that does digital into being a digital business.

For our marketing students, the marketing managers and CMOs of the future, understanding this strategic shift is important and they need to have the analytical tools to better manage it which is what we cover in our courses.”

Digital and Planning Lead at Navigator Blue, Ed Canning who will deliver the clinic commented:

“As the digital environment changes so quickly I hope the tools and techniques Navigator Blue uses daily in commercial practice will add real value in preparing these students for the digital economy.”

Professor Durkin concluded: “The digital marketing classes are always so exciting to deliver – we have 100 excellent young marketers in their final year of study who, once they graduate this summer, will be positioned to deliver real value to NI’s economy and further afield.”
