College in talent hunt to improve its standing

THERE is a wide range of job vacancies in today’s Nijobfinder.
 
Advertised positions include a trust manager, support workers and a gas safety administrator.
 
Maurice Flynn & Sons Ltd is looking to fill a number of vacancies including scaffolder, workshop miner and CCTV drainage engineer, while the Housing Executive wants an electrician.
 
In its drive for excellence South Eastern Regional College (SERC) aims to be a top 20 college internationally by 2020 and is looking for the best talent to help it. The Northern Ireland Graduate Recruitment Fair 2016 is on June 7. Organised by Employability and Marketing at Ulster University and Careers, Employability and Skills at Queen’s University, Belfast in association with Nijobfinder, the event is open to all graduates and post-graduate students from institutions throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Meanwhile, new Economy Minister Simon Hamilton has said generating quality jobs and economic growth is a top priority for the new Department.
 
The Minister said: “I am delighted to have been chosen to lead the Department for the Economy. I will take every opportunity I can to create more and better jobs and raise people’s incomes.”
 
Mr Hamilton said if Northern Ireland is to be successful and competitive in the global economy it must have the right policies in place.
 
He believes this means working closely with employers to ensure it creates a highly skilled workforce that meets business need and underpins
economic growth.
