NORTHERN Regional College is celebrating after being crowned one of the winners in the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 2015 Chamber Awards.
It was awarded the education and business partnership award, having been acknowledged for its efforts with businesses to help pupils gain an understanding of work.
In 2012, the college launched the Career Academy (Engineering) at its Ballymena campus to provide an opportunity to build engagement with students and local engineering businesses, with the aim of increasing the employability skills of 16-19-year-old engineering students.
Clare O’Neill, head of business development at the college, said: “We are delighted to have won this award.”
The college now goes forward to the national finals in London in November.
