Local Company Ranked Among One Of The UK’s Best Workplaces

22nd July 2015

Liberty IT recognised as one of the Best Places to Work for the fourth time

Local company, Liberty Information Technology (Liberty IT), has once again been recognised by Great Place to Work® as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces. It is the fourth time this Belfast and Dublin based IT company has received the accolade in recent years. Once again, they are the only Northern Ireland organisation to be ranked on the top 50 medium sized companies list (50 – 499 employees).

The methodology behind the Best Workplaces Programme makes it one of the most rigorous available and uniquely comprises both an employee survey and an audit into organisations’ management and HR practices, together providing a holistic view of the company.

Liberty IT employs over 440 members of staff and is an integral part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s global IT operations, providing complex IT solutions across a wide variety of roles. Contributing factors to the company’s ranking this year include its high trust, high engagement workplace culture.

“We are delighted to be recognised yet again as one of the best places to work in the UK,” said Dr William Hamilton, Managing Director, Liberty IT. “Achieving this recognition for the fourth time is a major accomplishment for us. Our strong company culture and highly engaged staff have helped us to secure business success and build Liberty IT’s reputation across the UK and Ireland as a leading IT company.”

Cathy Donnelly, HR Director, Liberty IT added, “Taking part in the Great Place to Work Programme has made an extremely positive difference to our organisation. Participation in the survey remained incredibly high, with 96% of employees contributing their feedback this year. This enables us to create action plans which are focused on what is important to our employees, and in turn, continually improve our workplace.”

Tom O’Byrne, Chief Executive Officer, Great Place to Work® said, ‘The work of these organisations is impressive. They provide an example that others can look to, to see what kind of outstanding workplace is possible and how to get from Good to Great, regardless of size, industry or other circumstances. For example, the growth that many of these organisations are experiencing is tremendous, and they are paying close attention to their culture every step of the way. This focus on a strong cultural foundation provides a strong competitive advantage and help pave the way for continued success as they serve their employees and their customers.’
