Allstate Northern Ireland has been named as a top organisation for people management practice, having won the Excellence in Social Responsibility award in the annual Investors in People (IIP) Awards 2015, the leading industry event recognising high performance in people management.
The Awards, which received over 400 entries from organisations working in a variety of sectors and locations across the globe, celebrate the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses.
The Excellence in Social Responsibility category recognises the development of people through making a valuable contribution to the community. Allstate NI was shortlisted alongside Ricoh UK Limited, Troup Bywaters & Anders and Mosscare Housing Group, among others. The company was crowned winner at the ceremony held on 24th June in London, in the grounds of the Tower of London, and hosted by comedian Rory Bremner.
Allstate Northern Ireland was chosen as winner for its particular achievements across not only within their business, but the industry as a whole.
On being presented with the Award Opal Perry, COO and Interim Managing Director at Allstate Northern Ireland said: “We are immensely proud to have won this award; it marks the outstanding work of all our employees. Our approach to being a socially responsible organisation is a multi-faceted programme. We provide multiple ways for employees to engage and build relationships with external organisations, from our XtheTXT safe driving campaign and community focused Dragons’ Den initiative, to raising over £100,000 for charity in 2014. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with Investors in People to maintain our high standard of people management.”
Allstate NI VP & CAO Rose Kelly said, “Corporate Social Responsibility is engrained in everything we do at Allstate Northern Ireland and is part of our company’s cultural DNA. It’s not just about fundraising but a commitment to responsible business practices, to community involvement – investing our time, talent and resources in the communities where we live and work, and investing resources for long-term sustainable change. We hope that by carrying out the work we do here in Northern Ireland, we have encouraged other local businesses to do the same.”
Investors in People Awards judge, Kate Jansen Van Vuuren, said: “Allstate Northern Ireland should be extremely pleased with their achievement. This accolade demonstrates its dedication to improving their people, communities and the environment, which makes it a truly outperforming company. It is organisations like these that form the backbone of Investors in People.”
