EIGHTY high quality jobs are to be created at an aerospacecomponent firm.
RLC is investing almost £35m to expand its Northern Ireland operations and establish a world-class advanced manufacturing capability for its new 10,000sq m factory at the Global Point site in Newtownabbey.
As part of the investment, RLC is also undertaking a research and development project to enable it to manufacture structural guide vanes at high production rates for the next generation of aero engines.
RLC employs 258 staff in Northern Ireland and a total of 850 across the group. The new jobs are expected to contribute more than £2.8m year in salaries to the economy.
Commenting on the investment RLC director, Sarah Holt, said: “We have recently secured high technology, longterm projects with leading global aerospace companies, which offer significant opportunities for RLC.
“To deliver on these contracts we need to invest in a major R&D project and enhance our manufacturing capability.”
