Peninsula Care Services launched its inaugural ‘Heart of Peninsula Care Awards’ this week.
The awards aim to reward and recognise the company’s most talented, dedicated and loyal staff.
Managing director of Peninsula Care Services Jonny Cook, who sponsors Belfast Giants award-winning leading goal scorer Kevin Saurette, created these awards as part of the company’s sixth anniversary celebrations which also coincide with the creation of 30 new jobs.
Speaking at the launch of the new awards, Jonny Cook said: “Peninsula Care Services wouldn’t be the leading domiciliary care and nursing recruitment company in Northern Ireland if it wasn’t for my 140 strong staff, many of whom have worked with me since the conception of the company six years ago
“My staff go beyond their own call of duty and I want to acknowledge and reward these ordinary people who make extraordinary differences to our clients’ lives, by treating them to an intimate yet glitzy awardsceremony.
“We’re also delighted to recognise others in the industry who show the same passion and ethos, as caring is everything to us. I have worked in this industry for over 12 years and have yet to identify organisations that host their own awards ceremony to reward people working in domiciliary and healthcare, so I felt a strong need to create one which will simultaneously help heighten the profile of this industry on awhole.”
The event will be hosted by UTV’s Julian Simmons at The Tudor Tavern in Newtownards in November. Award categories include Peninsula’s Unsung Hero, Community Care Worker of the Year, Health Care Assistant of the Year, Nurse of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Client Choice Award, Care Home Manager of the Year and The Outstanding Achievement Award. However, the most sought after award of the evening will be, The Giraffe Award, which recognises the person who is head and shoulders above the rest.
Judges for the Heart of Peninsula Awards include Belfast Giant Kevin Saurette, award-winning entrepreneur Ann Rodgers and MLA for Strangford, Kieran McCarthy.
