Government must do more to promote and incentivise further education (FE) study to ensure more people gain new skills, according to the National Union of Students-Union of Students in Ireland president Rebecca Hall.
“FE is central to building skills for our economy and to helping attract more jobs to Northern Ireland,” she said.
“I know that government has done work on this issue in recent times, however I think that more can still be done, particularly on providing enhanced financial incentives for apprentices and to promote lifelong learning.”
She added:“More financial assistance for students and greater promotion of skills and training courses would greatly help people to reach their potential and also help create jobs.”
