The role of the human resources professional is becoming increasingly more crucial to the success of businesses in Northern Ireland, according to a survey conducted by leading HR recruitment specialist Brightwater.
The survey found one of the main areas of focus for the local HR professional in the coming year will be effectively engaging the workforce – 89% of those surveyed indicated that employee engagement is a challenge high on their priority list in 2013.
“This is perhaps not surprising given that in difficult economic conditions companies need to have staff who are motivated to go the extra mile”, said Stephanie Mulholland, HR team leader at Brightwater.”
“It also highlights the definite link between a happy and motivated workforce and a company’s financial performance.
“Strategically, the smart business owner or senior management team is recognising that the HR professional is absolutely key to making this happen.”
Brightwater is delighted to be the headline sponsor for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Awards in Northern Ireland in 2013.
“These awards are an excellent platform for recognising and rewarding the talented professionals in the HR industry,” said Stephanie.
Brightwater NI is part of the Brightwater Group, Ireland’s leading specialist recruitment consultancy. The company’s HR division recruits HR professionals for a wide range of industries across Northern Ireland.
The CIPD NI Awards recognise initiatives that have transformed business and organisational performance as well as the contribution individuals and teams working in the HR discipline have made to the way people are managed and developed.
The award winners will be announced at a gala event in the Ulster Museum, Belfast on May 16.
