NI Tourist Board estimates that new tourism capital projects will support over 450 construction jobs in the short term.
The jobs will result from an extra £5.7million which has been announced to develop tourism which had not previously progressed because of budgetary constraints.
The money is part of a new £200million Economy and Jobs initiative welcomed by Enterprise Minister, Arlene Foster.
Other elements within the initiative include provision of higher levels of support to employers for jobs filled by disadvantaged workers (ie over 50s, long-term unemployed) and a new Skills Grant proposal to encourage small businesses (up to 50 employees) to invest in new skills development.
