AIRCRAFT engineers, local government workers, store managers, bar staff and a new chief executive of industrial and fair employment tribunals are amongst hundreds of jobs being advertised today.
The posts – paying up to £102,000 – are amongst over 400 in our NI JobFinder supplement.
Also recruiting is the Citizens Advice Bureau and Royal British Legion advice service, which has a range of posts to fill including money advisors and an administrator.
In the education sector, colleges and schools, including Belfast Met and Northern Regional College, are recruiting a range of full and part-time positions including lecturers and managers as well as an engineer and a head of IT.
One of the most influential posts advertised today is a Full Time Chairman of the Industrial Tribunals and Fair Employment Tribunal, which is a judicial office.
The Northern Ireland Judicial Appointment Commission is seeking a person with relevant legal experience and in particular “a lawyer looking for a new challenge”.
The post’s current salary is £102,921 a year, and includes a judicial pension.
A range of sales posts is also being advertised today – evidence of local companies’ determination to meet the recession head on.
Big health charities, too, are recruiting; Cancer Research UK are looking for a Regional Manager for the Province (salary up to £34,000) to help them in their valiant battle against the UK’s biggest killer illness.
Mencap, which works on behalf of people with learning disabilities, is recruiting a head of business development (£40,000 p.a.) and a range of other managers and officers.
Meanwhile, a new app has been developed locally to help curious jobseekers keep tabs with salary levels across a range of disciplines in Northern Ireland.
Recruitment agency Brightwater has published NI salary surveys for the past decade. But, with the wonders of modern technology, you can now store the info on your phone.
The app, available from the iTunes store, offers jobseekers and employers “a useful tool at the touch of a button” to gauge salaries levels across a range of sectors including accountancy, banking, HR, IT, insurance, legal, sales & marketing, supply chain, engineering and office administration.
