Entries are now open for the 2020 CIPD Northern Ireland HR Awards, the leading awards for the HR and L&D profession in Northern Ireland.
Now in their eighth year, the awards celebrate outstanding achievement in people management and development across all types of organisations, regardless of size or sector.
This year’s awards were launched with a winners’ showcase event at MCS Group in Belfast, where some of the 2019 award winners, including speakers from NIE Networks, Danske Bank, HSCNI Podiatry Services and 2019 Student of the Year, Aimee Hull from Coca-Cola, shared their success stories.
NIE Networks and Aimee Hull from Coca-Cola both went on to win national awards at the CIPD People Management Awards in London in September. The 2020 CIPD Northern Ireland HR Awards include two new categories. The External Consultancy award recognises the success of a specific people-related project between an individual consultant or consultancy and client organisation, and HR SME of the Year is for organisations with less than 150 employees that can demonstrate how agility, multi-skilling and small teams can achieve strong results.
Members, Networks and Communities Manager for CIPD Scotland and Northern Ireland, Avril Anderson said: “The CIPD Northern Ireland Awards continue to go from strength to strength, rewarding individuals, teams, organisations and practices that are championing better work and working lives.
Last year saw a record number of entries, and we’re hoping to build on this for 2020. As well as adding two new categories this year, we’ve also invested in a new online system to streamline the entry process!”
Entries will be judged by a 12 strong panel of senior academics and HR leaders from leading organisations in the public, private and third sector. Shortlisted entrants will be invited for interview at the end of March.
Leading specialist recruitment company, MCS are title sponsors of the awards for a second year. Managing Director, Louise Smyth said: “The MCS Group are proud to continue our headline sponsorship of the CIPD NI HR Awards, which recognise the best in HR and L&D being delivered by individuals, teams and organisations in Northern Ireland, and celebrate the impact that their work is having on our economy and businesses across Northern Ireland and beyond.”
nijobfinder is delighted to once again be media partner for the awards. Business Manager, Colin Maxwell commented: “nijobfinder is delighted to continue our support of the CIPD NI HR Awards and we are looking forward to helping to raise the profile of the awards and contributing towards another successful event.”
The awards culminate in a glittering gala awards ceremony at Titanic Belfast on Thursday May 21.
