Having already built out an impressive team in another area of the business in Belfast, they are now seeking passionate Software Engineering Managers to lead, support and develop a first-class tech team, playing a pivotal role in the next phase of their Belfast expansion.
The Role:- Leading, developing and growing a talented team software engineers, implementing and overseeing all elements of team development, best practices, engineering guidelines, service provision, and cooperation among diverse teams.
- Establishing and preserving an efficient and effective engineering workflow, helping engineers and clearing obstacles while maintaining technical guidelines, business objectives, and refining the product strategy from a technical viewpoint.
- Encouraging and promoting both individual and team growth through performance evaluations, 1-2-1s, goal setting, and consistent coaching and mentoring.
- Contributing significantly to the team's expansion in Belfast, supporting recruitment tactics to drive the company's commercial growth.
- Though this role is hands-off, you will still be heavily involved in technical choices, requirements gathering, project planning, system architecture, and reviewing code for Python, React, and AWS
The Person:
- Previous technical experience in software development and a strong technical knowledge - ideally in Python / React and a public cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure) however if you are coming from another tech stack, let's chat!
- Demonstrated success in overseeing team dynamics and managing individual performance through one-on-one meetings and setting targets.
- Prior experience in leading and expanding cross-departmental teams is crucial.
- An enthusiastic and driven coach and mentor with a history of fostering team growth and development while overseeing service operations and achieving business objectives.
- Ideally you'll be coming from a product-driven or SaaS company within a start-up or scale-up environment
- An effective communicator, inspiring your team while establishing connections with various cross-functional groups in the company and externally with clients.
- You'll possess a growth mindset, approaching challenges with an open outlook and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple tasks with considerable independence.
- If you have any experience in data, analytics, AI or ML - that's a bonus!
