Waste Management Operative - Public Sector Opportunity - Temporary Contract

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Waste Management Operative to support our client's waste management operations within the public sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient collection, segregation, and disposal of various waste materials, contributing to the overall cleanliness and environmental sustainability of the community.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular waste collections and segregating different types of waste materials, including recyclables, hazardous waste, and general waste, in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Operating waste management equipment such as refuse collection vehicles, compactors, and balers safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in waste collection areas and reporting any issues or hazards to the appropriate authorities.
  • Assisting with the implementation of waste minimisation and recycling initiatives to promote environmental sustainability.
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to optimise waste management processes and improve service delivery.
  • Participating in training programs and staying updated on relevant regulations and best practices in waste management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 Months Experience in waste management, recycling, or a related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and a commitment to adhering to established protocols.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to meet operational requirements.
  • A proactive and responsible approach to work, with a dedication to delivering high-quality service to the community.

  • Shift work (3 shift, 4 shift pattern) 08:45 - 20:15 shifts
