ADVICE INTERN Full time, fixed term

Salary Scale: £23,177 per annum

We are recruiting for an Advice Intern with ambition to progress within the housing advice sector and help us achieve our vision and mission.

About the role

You will work closely within the Helpline and Casework teams, supervised by our Helpline Coordinator. To succeed as an Advice Intern, you will need:

  • dedication to your learning and development journey and have a desire to learn quickly
  • to be energetic about new opportunities to deepen your understanding of the organisation
  • to be self-driven and passionate about achieving positive outcomes for our clients
  • to be willing to take on responsibility and use your initiative
  • to develop good working relationships with colleagues.

This role is available on a full-time basis (37 hours), for up to 12 months, and will be based in the Housing Rights office.

The successful candidate may be offered a role as Helpline Support Worker at the end of the internship, subject to funding and satisfactory completion of the internship.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK. This role is not suitable as a placement.

You will gain:

  • Improved level of knowledge in housing and generalist advice

  • Regular feedback on your work and progress
  • Skills such as questioning, empathy, resilience, de-escalation, use of interpreters
  • Improved awareness of the impact of housing issues and homelessness
